CEBU - A photo of a soldier together with two street children eating at a fast food chain in Lapu-lapu City Cebu went viral on social media.

The soldier identified as Airman Mario Teadila who is a member of the 560th Infantry Brigade of the Philippines Air Force.

According to ABS-CBN News page, Teadila just finished sending money to his family in Batangas when he saw the two boys sleeping beside a mall. He woke up the boys and asked them if they had eaten. The boys answered, "No". So he took them to a fast food chain, dined and talked to them.

When Teadila was asked why he did that, he said that it's because of how he grew up. 

Teadila came from a poor family and his parent didn't have stable jobs. 

At the age of 19, he decided to become a soldier to help his family.

CEBU: "The Crown Jewel of Asia"

Cebu is now considered as "The Crown Jewel of Asia" because of its record-breaking number of participants for the upcoming Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines on August 2.

World Triathlon Corporation organized the Ironman 70.3 which consists of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run.

The Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines is a qualifying race to the 2016 Ironman 70.3 World Championship that will be held in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

It is a pleasure for Cebu to hold Ironman 70.3 for the fourth time. This year, a total of 2,618 participants from 52 different countries including United States, Australia, France, Malaysia, Hongkong, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and Phippines.

During the race week, the annual Asia-Pacific Ironman Conference will also be held in Cebu.

Kid Studying in the Side-walk Received Full College Scholarship

Cebu City - Eight-year old Daniel Cabrera whose photo went viral on social media sites when a netizen took a photo of him while studying at the side-walk. Cabrera was studying near a fast food chain in order to get some light from the said establishment.

Many people were inspired by his determination and resourcefulness. Having no electricity in their house, Cabrera proves that nothing can stop him from learning new things.

Few weeks after his photo went viral, Daniel Cabrera received a Full College Scholarship in BS Criminology Course at PAP, from Dean Artemio Panganiban Jr., at the Mandaue City Police Office ceremony today, July 13, 2015.

SM Seaside City received negative comments months before its opening

Cebu City, Philippines - People from Cebu City are very excited for the opening of SM Seaside City which is set on November 2015. Months before the opening, it already received negative comments from the netizens.

On Sunday, 28th of June 2015, a Facebook user uploaded photos of flooded SM Seaside caused by heavy rains. The post reached more than 1000 shares with negative captions on it.

This is a big problem for the mall goers. SM must assess this issue before the opening.
